About this content

Attention! This content requires the base game Panzer Corps 2 on Steam in order to play.

The war on the Eastern Front continues! Germany suffered its biggest setback since the start of the war, as Barbarossa failed to subdue the Soviet Union. And now, in the icy cold of the Russian winter, Soviet counter-offensives seek to encircle and destroy the invading Germans before they have a chance to recover.

To hold the line, your elite Wehrmacht forces are once again called to action.

FIGHTING THE BEAR IN CHAPTER 5 OF THE MARKET CAMPAIGN

The Axis Operations 1942 DLC campaign focuses almost exclusively on the fighting on the Eastern Front during this critical year of World War II, exploring both well-known and little-known conflicts of the period. This massive 17-scenario campaign offers even more of the content our players are familiar with and loves so much, and continues to break those molds with several new mission designs.

KEEP YOUR OWN TANK CORPS

Players can import their main force that completed the previous Axis Operations 1941 campaign, or use a preconfigured main force to start the Axis Operations 1942 campaign directly.

While the imported forces can seek additional growth and challenge through the increased difficulty settings and expanded game modes, the pre-installed forces contain a moderate amount of experienced units and a set of heroes, enough for any player to succeed in this new campaign.

NUMBERS AND MISSIONS FROM HISTORY

In addition to the ongoing trend of bonus missions based on real historical events, this campaign will be complemented by performances from other historical German leaders from World War II. While the appearance of these new characters in various campaign briefings and scenarios cannot fully replace the loss of previously seen characters, their presence will absolutely bring new historical context and understanding to the campaign.

Some of the new mission objectives that will appear in this campaign include airlifting supplies into the pockets of German troops, providing special close air support to Axis partners, and one very unusual relief mission to escort several Kriegsmarine ships right across the English Channel!

GAIN AND SPEND INFLUENCE

As you complete bonus objectives and achieve various levels of victory, you earn Commendation Points that can be spent on a variety of unique rewards, ranging from access to stockpiles of captured enemy equipment, special aircraft prototypes, and the ability to recruit more historical officers.

STALINGRAD, WITH A SURPRISE

Ends the 1942 campaign with a battle that even players new to World War II will probably recognize: the Battle of Stalingrad. However, in true Grand Campaign style, this pivotal battle of World War II is unfolded in multiple scenarios to explore the details of this pivotal battle very deeply.

But primarily in Axis Operations, and to properly represent how important this battle really was, Axis Operations 1942 is the first DLC campaign to have more than one ending. Will your efforts in the war begin to influence its historical outcome, or will you resign yourself to fate, as it has been written so far?

OPERATIONS ON THE AXIS CONTINUE

The end of 1942 in the East is not the end of your campaign, it is just the last step. At the conclusion of Axis Operations 1942 East, players will once again be offered the opportunity to save their main force for use in the next installment of the Axis Operations Campaign. Any Axis Operations campaign can be played individually as a standalone campaign.
